I suppose the taxpayer will have to pay for a state funeral for former police chief Jackie Selebi? The ANC wastes our money in life and death.

Zuma really doesn’t live on this planet. What stabilising of mining is he talking about?

The National Development Plan has been nothing but talk. For four years Zuma has been trying to sell it to investors. Business has long passed the frustration of no action, while unions hold up progress.

It is admirable that Ehrenreich is donating half of his income to charity. However, he is certainly milking the publicity for all it is worth. “The hypocrites trumpet their virtues in the public places and the street corners.” – Michael, Ottery

Could somebody please appoint a task team to check on Tony to see who gets the remainder of his salary?

Another flop from the trade and industry minister. Some years ago the plan was that all imported appliances should have the South African electrical plugs. But we now have various adapters.

Yonelo Diko, like all good ANC/SACP, you think blaming “whites” for the past, is going to absolve you of the mess our country is in, deflecting attention from incompetence, and the tax monies stolen from the poor each year. Think again. Not even black voters believe that rubbish.

Jackie Selebi’s passing must have Schabir Shaik very worried. There might after all be truth behind parole on medical grounds. – Francois, Green Point

Zuma: someone needs to point out that all the zeroes in his cost-planned nuclear deal doesn’t mean it is for free. Its the last number on the left hand side that dictates the value.

Why would a R3 trillion deal be secret? Hands won’t go into the cookie jar, shovels will, that’s why.

Race row

You don’t publish articles of importance. All I read lately is racial issues. Are you trying to stir up racial hatred?

Jan van Riebeeck landed in the Cape and the stealing began, not trouble.

Apologising does not always mean that you’re wrong and that the other person is right. It means that you value your relationship more than your ego.

It seems for all those years Zelda was caring for Madiba, below the surface she still had issues.

Why did Madiba love Zelda so much? Green with envy? – M Visser, Parow

City

Tony, what on earth is your problem? There are a lot of streets named after struggle heroes in SA.

Thanks to City Council for cleaning the subways at Kelvin Road. – Janet, Rondebosch

No roads should be named after politicians, former or present. It will always upset a particular group no matter who it is. Naming roads after natural things is a far better, and attractive option (Table Bay Boulevard). And with our beautiful city the possibilities are endless.

Thank God something is being done about drag racing. My cousin was killed and the racer got off with a slap on the wrist.

Soweto

Soweto goes up in flames, 1976? No. It’s 2015. So who’s to blame? Apartheid? Poverty ? Inequality? Afrikaans? Humpty Dumpty?

Looting: It is a sad day in our country with looting and violence rampant in the townships around Gauteng. How will Davos, where our president is having a ball, react to this terrible situation?

How ironic, two weeks after the ANC whinged about all the DA failures in the Western Cape, it’s own backyard and prize township Soweto goes up in flames. A “good news” story for Zuma to tell investors?

Today is a very sad day. Stealing from the shops.Today I am ashamed to have a black skin.

Other

I would like to give Julius Malema advice on how to further his education. It is a matter of record that it only takes three months to receive a doctorate in Zimbabwe. I would assume that his post-graduate degree could be attained in mere weeks.

I have also completed and returned the GrandWest survey and got no feedback on my responses to their questions. Not even a thank you or acknowledgment. I don’t think they even bother to read our responses.

Anyone tried recently to get through to Telkom about technical support problems ? Good luck. Be prepared for a long wait.

Behardien is not a limited overs player. He has no aggressiveness in his batting. Scores 18 for 24 balls or 8 runs for 12 balls. Need someone to go all out in last 10 overs like AB. Lost second T20 for us due to slow batting in last five overs. Rossouw is the answer in his place. – Len, Retreat
