GrandWest has on fun-filled activities to brighten holidays

-

GRANDWEST promises loads of “egg-citing” fun, with activities planned daily until next Sunday, April 12.

There are puppet and magic shows, arts and crafts workshops, balloon sculpting, face-painting and hula hoop workshops to look forward to.

The fun starts from noon and runs until 4pm at the Cape Village each day.

The festivities will reach fever pitch tomorrow on the Marble Walkway and Cape Village, between noon and 2pm. The Food Court and Hendrik Boom’s Garden will be a hive of activity with buskers, face painters, magicians, balloon sculptors and more to entertain children. The Easter bunny will also visit the Ice Station and on Wednesday you can build a snowman.

“Our complex will be a hive of activity over the Easter holidays. Kids are invited to be part of the action every day at no cost,” said GrandWest spokeswoman Elouise Matthys.

Take part in a snowman building competition during the morning session from 10am and 12.30pm at the Ice Station on Wednesday at GrandWest.

Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed snowman so make sure to bring along toy spades, buckets, gloves and decorations. The cost is just R10 per child excluding skate hire.

● Cape Point’s resident pirate will be roaming around the funicular handing out delicious chocolate treats to families and present- ing children with fun activity books teaching them about the place’s history, flora and fauna.

Hop on to the electric-powered Flying Dutchman funicular and let your eyes take in the waves crashing against the steep cliffs and beach.

Easter eggs will be handed out today and tomorrow.

Cape Point Nature Reserve is open 7am to 5pm. The Flying Dutchman funicular opens from 9am to 5pm.
