60 apartments let in one month in The Breakwater

-

THE V&A Waterfront recently launched its second long-term residential rental complex, The Breakwater, directly opposite the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre.

Of its 150 apartments across four floors, 60 have already been let within one month.

The Breakwater consists of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, sized from 30m to 120m2.

All 22 of the studios that were available have already been snapped up at rentals of R7 500 to R8 500 a month, mostly by younger tenants, students and foreign visitors who are working in the city.

Twenty-four of the one-bedroom apartments have already been let, at R12 500 to R16 000 a month, and 14 of the two-bedroom units, at R17 000 to R29 000 a month. Except for pre-paid electricity, rentals at The Breakwater include utilities, 24-hour security and wi-fi – parking is additional. The one-bedroom apartments that have been let so far have gone mostly to local professionals, and the two- bedroom apartments have been let to a mix of locals and foreigners.

V&A Waterfront chief executive, David Green, says: “The letting rate at The Breakwater has exceeded all expectations. The Breakwater is making living here accessible to a wide range of budgets.”

There are still 57 one-bedroom apartments and 33 twobedroom apartments available to rent at The Breakwater.
