Body found as fire is extinguished
FIREFIGHTERS found the partly burnt body of a man while extinguishing a blaze near Wellington yesterday.
It is not clear whether the man was alive when he was set alight but police suspect it was his burning body that started the fire on Bain’s Kloof Pass.
The firefighter who found the body was sent home early.
Yesterday police spokesman Andre Traut said the body had been found at about 7am.
“The body is burnt beyond recognition.”
Crime scene experts had scoured the area for clues that could help in the investigation into the man’s murder.
