Women artists want Kanye to go West

Actress Ruby Rose furious over rapper’s lyrics dissing Taylor Swift ‘Star Wars’ firm sued over Ford’s leg

-

KANYE WEST unveiled his new album and hotly anticipated fashion collection in a dramatic show watched by 20 million people that placed himself and the Kardashian/ Jenner clan front and centre.

But his artistic output is being overshadowed by his choice of words after a furious backlash against lyrics apparently targeting Taylor Swift, and Ruby Rose has now become the latest high-profile star to distance herself from the rapper yesterday.

The actress said she would be unable to still support West and call herself a feminist and a friend over his new track Famous from his album The Life of Pablo.

In a line from Famous, he raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous.”

After disappointed reactions from Gigi Hadid and Jaime King, Rose highlighted a number of controversial comments West has made in recent weeks about women, including his remarks about Amber Rose and a claim about Bill Cosby’s innocence, warning that too many lines have been crossed.

Swift’s brother Austin reacted more indirectly by uploading a video of himself “spring cleaning”, which translated as throwing a pair of Yeezy trainers in the bin.

West held his Yeezy Season 3 presentation as part of New York Fashion Week on Thursday.

The Kardashian- Jenner family, even baby North, showed up in full force for the event.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a K West party without a little controversy. The rapper played his eighth studio album ( The Life of Pablo) for the crowd, drawing a veritable gold mine of priceless reactions. Austin Swift posted a pretty telling Instagram video after Kanye called Taylor out in a particularly graphic lyric.

Swift has vehemently denied a report she gave West her blessing to rap about having sex with her and labelling her a “bitch” in his new track.

The singer, 26, was stunned to learn of the way she was described in Famous.

MailOnline reported her spokesman said in a statement: “‘ Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account.

“She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.

“Taylor was never made aware of the lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”

The pop star’s strong reply shoots down a report by TMZ.com claiming West, 38, called Taylor last month to tell her about the lyric and explain it was a joke.

West shocked many celebrities, including Taylor’s close friend Hadid, who was in the audience at his listening party when he debuted his new album The Life Of Pablo.

Famous also features Rihanna after widespread rumours she doesn’t get on with Taylor. In an interview last year with NME, Rihanna said she wouldn’t join Taylor on stage after the blonde star invited a host of celebrity pals to appear with her during her world tour last year.

“I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.” – Independent and additional reporting Daily Mail. A FILM production company is to be prosecuted over an incident in which actor Harrison Ford was seriously injured during the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Pinewood Studios.

Ford suffered a broken leg and other injuries when he was struck by a heavy hydraulic metal door on the set of the Millennium Falcon spaceship in June 2014.

The star was reprising his role as Han Solo in the Star Wars series when the accident occurred at the studios in Buckinghamshire, England.

Ford was airlifted to hospital after the incident, which police said involved a garage door, although there were suggestions it could have been the door of the Millennium Falcon.

Foodles Production is due to appear in High Wycombe Magistrate’s Court on May 12 to face four charges.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive ( HSE) said the firm would be prosecuted for four alleged breaches of health and safety laws.

“The charges relate to an incident during filming of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which left Harrison Ford with serious injuries after he was hit by a heavy hydraulic door.

“By law, employers must take reasonable steps to protect workers – this is as true on a film set as a factory floor.

“We have investigated thoroughly and believe that we have sufficient evidence to bring the case to court.”

Foodles Production was the company responsible for producing Star Wars: The Force Awakens and, under health and safety law, for managing the risks created during production, it said.

The parent company of Foodles is the film’s maker, global entertainment giant Disney.

A Foodles spokeswoman said: “Cast and crew safety is always a top priority. We provided full co-operation during HSE’s investigation into the onset accident in June 2014 and are disappointed in HSE’s decision.” – Daily Mail
