Jbjsaturday
THERE is a big party in the city next Saturday with 2 000 amazing dancers, dazzling, giant floats and a huge fireworks display.
You and your family are invited to join in the celebrations and it’s free.
It’s a street party named the Cape Town Carnival.
This is the sixth year the carnival will light up the Green Point Fan Walk. There will be giant floats, jugglers, dancers and people dressed in all sorts of costumes.
This year’s theme is Street Life and it will celebrate all the fun, funky, crazy things that happen on Cape Town’s streets.
It’s a colourful parade with floats and acts, each carefully built, decorated and choreographed to embody the theme.
Organisers are encouraging carnival-goers to shine brightly and celebrate what the theme means to them.
There will be a variety of food, crafts and kids’ activities.
The streets will be closed for final preparations at 6pm, giving carnival-goers enough time to find the perfect viewing spot or make their way along the Fan Walk before the magic begins at 7pm.
A fireworks display at 7pm marks the start of the parade.
Dance along as dazzling costumed performers and musicians take to the Fan Walk, entertaining viewers with magical floats and vibrant dance routines.
