- VIVE NDONGENI

A LONG time ago, in a little house on the edge of a wood, lived a hare, a squirrel and a little grey rabbit.

The Tales of Little Grey Rabbit is on at the Artscape until April 2 at 10.30 am, except on March 27 and 28 and Sundays. The show is presented by Stagecraft Drama Studio.

The Hare was a conceited fellow. Squirrel was proud, but Little Grey Rabbit was kind and thoughtful and took good care of them both.

One day a weasel moved into the forest and captured Squirrel and Hare. See the show and help Little Grey Rabbit rescue her friends.

Dress up as Little Grey Rabbit, Squirrel or Hare on March 26 and win a prize.

The play is written by author Alison Uttley and directed by Cheryl Abromowitz.

Tickets cost R80 puticket.

The Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company will perform one of their most popular shows, The Three Little Pigs in the school holidays.

The show runs till April 2 at 10am and will be staged at the Nassau Theatre on the grounds of Groote Schuur High School on Palmyra Road in Newlands.

It’s a fairytale classic with a modern twist and a happy ending.

It takes place in the Karoo where the little pigs leave their farm to build houses of their own. One wants to be a dancer, another wants to be a singer and the third wants to be a successful businessman.

The big bad wolf pretends to be a travelling salesman in order to get into their homes.

When none of his disguises work, he tries to blow the houses up but ends up blowing himself up.

The story is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy who has been producing children’s theatre for 22 years.

It stars Desle McConney as Aunty Joan, Monique Rockman as Percy Pig, Rachelle Kruger as Peter Pig, Carmen Maarman as Patrick Pig and Duffy as the wolf.

This show is filled with loads of audience participation and songs from The Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Destiny’s Child and Shakira. Tickets are R70 at Computicket. For block bookings or queries, call Duffy on 083 364 8284 or e-mail elton@lilliputplayers.co.za.
