The Barkly offers mountain, sea views

-

A NEW Sea Point development, The Barkly, will consist of eight units with spectacular views from the corner of Barkly Road and Ocean View Drive, an arterial route linking the Atlantic seaboard to the city centre.

Besides mountain and sea views, residents will have modern shopping centres, restaurants and coffee shops. Piazza St John in the Main Road offers outlets such as Woolworths, Ocean Basket, trendy shops and coffee bars, and The Point offers everything from groceries to medical services.

The building is a joint venture by Signatura, the private label property brand of John Rabie – founder of the Rabie Property Group – and GAIN property consultants and developers. GAIN chief executive, Ari Efstathiou, and Rabie codeveloped the Chelsea on Main apartments in Green Point.

Architect Juan Bernicchi, who has regularly worked with Signatura on projects, has laid out a blueprint in a contemporary architectural idiom, with clean lines and strong sculptural elements. “Bernicchi and his team have ensured every element complements the exemplary setting,” says Rabie.

The Barkly consists of five two-bedroom apartments, two on the first floor and three on the second floor. They range in size from 83m² to 128m², each with a north- facing terrace. Prices start at R4.65 million.

A three-bedroom unit on the first floor will have a 73m² ter- race, and two penthouses of 154m² and 164m² on the third floor will have three bedrooms and large terraces. “This site has huge potential,” says Rabie. “We’re maximising this great location with great visual and sensory appeal.

Occupation is scheduled for May 2017.Call Anton McElhone on 083 506 7829 or Enver Deedat on 082 263 3337.
