Uber car hijacked

UBER drivers have expressed shock and dismay after learning that one of their colleagues, a Zimbabwean-born man in his late twenties, was hijacked in Fish Hoek on Thursday night.

The guild representing the drivers said yesterday there had been a spike in violent incidents since Uber started introducing cash as a form of payment last May.

A Fish Hoek police spokeswoman confirmed the driver reported the incident immediately.
