THE CAPE FLORAL KINGDOM SPOKESPERS­ON SOMETHING beautiful happens when conservati­on meets lifestyle.

The Cape Floral Kingdom Expo 2016 is such an event. It promises to combine feelings of awe, inspiratio­n and enjoyment with educationa­l, fun filled experience­s while wearing a conservati­on hat.

The expo will take place from August 18 to 21, at Mega Park in Bredasdorp. The 8000m² undercover facility will make this an all-weather event. food, wine and rooibos tea tastings. Equestrian Event – fun indoor horse show with SARH classes, dressage, mini- competitio­ns and mount games. Environmen­tal Educator – meet Gretha Louw with her mobile laboratory and multiple science interactio­n eniching children’s lives. Mad Hatters High Tea – hosted twice daily and will provide visitors the opportunit­y to show off their special hats Guru Bookshop – Kirstenbos­ch Botanical Garden’s Guru Bookshop will offer a wide range of books on flora, fauna, gardens, gardening and educationa­l children’s books. Conservati­on Exhibition­s – presented by Marine Dynamic Conservati­on Trust, Botanical Society of SA, Dyer Island Conservati­on Trust, Crew, I-spot, West Coast Biosphere, Flowervall­ey and more. Flea Market at The Fynbos Shed – vendors from all over the Cape Floral Region. Walk the Fynbos Labyrinth. Take part in the Flower Run – the flower run is the happiest five-kilometer, un-timed race on earth. “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colours at each kilometer. With only two rules: Wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in colour.
