Bellville development under construction

DEVMARK Property Group recently launched The Block in Glenhaven, a new development that will consist of 944 flats.

“This is the first integrated housing project in the Bellville area,” says Devmark’s development director, Jean- Pierre Nortier.

“Construction has started on The Block, on a 7.2-hectare infill site on the corner of Peter Barlow and Bester Roads in Glenhaven on erven 14121 and 14118. We want to establish new standards for housing in the affordable and gap housing market through delivering on quality and doing so on scale.”

Nortier says the integrated housing project will provide affordable mixed tenure housing opportunities close to public transport – Sarepta Railway Station is just 300m from the site – opportunities of employment such as Bellville CBD and Sacks Circle, public amenities including schools, state hospitals and public libraries. The Block is also just 1.2km from University of the Western Cape and the CPUT Bellville Campus.

The development will consist of three precincts. Precinct one will have 203 two-bedroom units and 50 one- bedroom units. Precinct two will have 416 apartments, of which 288 will have two bedrooms and 128 will be one-bedroom and studio apartments. Precinct three will consist of 275 apartments of which 198 will be two-bedroom units and 77 will have one bedroom.
