No bars on Bardale developments
Milestones have been reached at Bardale Village near Blue Downs, where Integrated Housing Developers’ plan for a fully integrated area is coming to fruition.
The first milestone is the City of Cape Town has given the green light and construction has begun on the next section of Saxdown Road, which will connect with Nooiensfontein and opens directly onto the Stellenbosch arterial route.
Until now, residents of Bardale Village and the immediate surrounds have either had to enter or leave the suburb by means of the congested Nooiensfontein route or Hindle Road.
The building of the new section of Saxdown Road, worth about R13.5 million, has largely been paid for by bulk infrastructure levy costs from the first three phases at Bardale Village and will run directly past the site where a commercial centre will soon be built.
It is envisaged the road will eventually be opened all the way to Hindle Road, creating a thoroughfare that will improved commuting times and make allowance for public transport systems.
According to a Lightstone report, property values at Bardale have increased steadily over the last 10 years.
