Matusa members demand new job evaluation after claims of racism
STELLENBOSCH Municipality workers affiliated to the Municipal and Allied Trade Union of SA (Matusa) have threatened to strike following what they term a dispute over the municipality’s job regrading process.
Matusa general secretary Kurt Ziervogel said members in Stellenbosch and Drakenstein were demanding a new job evaluation after claims of racism and misappropriation of funds were made by employees.
The Tuned Assessment of Skills and Knowledge job evaluation process in Stellenbosch led to a probe by KPMG in whose report the town’s chief financial officer, Marius Wust, and the director of planning and economic development, Dupre Lombaard, were implicated in the misallocation of at least R20 million.
