A PRIVATE game reserve which has conference facilities and development rights, and is situated close to Queenstown in the Eastern Cape, will be brought to market by BKB Properties in September.
The farm, named Roydon, measures 1 196.7 hectares and is in a region known for its beautiful natural resources and bountiful game.
“Queenstown is an established hub in the area, serving the many small surrounding towns,” says Willie van Rensburg of BKB Properties. “It has excellent medical facilities and schools, and serves as a base for adventurers who love the outdoors.”
Roydon has a huge variety of game, which will be included in the sale, and game fencing to the approved height of 2.4m has been installed. There are six boreholes.
The existing buildings on the property include the owner’s residence, a six-bedroomed lodge, 10 self-catering units and 10 hunters’ cottages.
There are also conference facilities, a restaurant, a lapa, a stands, is now up for sale.
The farm is fully operational and earns good revenue from both accommodation and conferences, he says. “The property will be sold as a going concern, generating an immediate income.”
Van Rensburg believes the upcoming sale by tender will represent an excellent opportunity for astute business people because of the property’s established revenue stream and the approved development plans that are in place. Viewing is by appointment only. Tender documents are available from BKB Properties, Cecilia Square, 100 Cecilia Street, Paarl. The final date for submitting tenders is September 1 at 12noon. Tenders will be opened at 12.15pm on the same day.
