Enjoy West Coast vibe in beachfront apartment
Bid for two-bedroomed flat in popular Big Bay block
A LARGE, modern apartment on Big Bay beachfront will go under the Property.CoZa hammer on September 10, offering bidders an opportunity to buy in a part of the suburb that has “one of the best vibes on the West Coast”.
This is the view of Mark Gadd, head of Property.CoZa’s auction division.
He says the 124m² apartment includes two bedrooms, with main en suite; a family bathroom; a spacious open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with built-in oven and hob and granite counter tops; and a large balcony with sea views.
The sale will also include two undercover and secure parking bays.
Gadd anticipates the auction will attract much attention from prospective buyers as the apartment is located in Eden on the Bay, a sought-after apartment block that sits above well-frequented and popular beachfront restaurants, including Moyo.
“The restaurants’ outside dining areas situated just below the apartment block are literally two minutes’ walk away from the worldrenowned sandy beach, which has for many decades been a regular top surfing competition venue, attracting the world’s greatest surfers.
“The beach is also popular with windsurfers and kiteboarders.”
Gadd describes the beachfront area’s atmosphere as “vibrant and exciting”.
He says Eden on the Bay is a desirable location, not only as a permanent residence but also as a holiday apartment block for visitors from upcountry and abroad.
“The apartment could also be a profitable investment if rented out to generate a regular monthly income.”
Blouberg has panoramic views of Table Mountain and Robben Island, and the area offers activities such as shopping, swimming and kitesurfing.
“Eden on the Bay has an on-site restaurant, and a variety of other restaurants with a range of cuisines can be found within walking distance of the block. The Cape Town city centre and the V&A Waterfront are only about 24km away.”
The auction will be held on site in Unit 237, Eden on the Bay, 5 Beach Estate Boulevard, Big Bay, at 3pm on September 10. The apartment may be viewed between 2pm and 5pm on August 20 and August 27, and two hours before the auction.
A 5% deposit and the auctioneer’s commission of 10% plus VAT will be payable on the fall of the hammer. Fica documents – a copy of each bidder’s identity document and proof of address in the form of a utility bill not older than three months – must be produced upon registration before auction starts.
