Knysna farm an opportunity
Garden Route property with views and development potential
POTENTIAL buyers will have an opportunity to acquire a 21ha lifestyle farm on the Garden Route, just 0.5km from the N2, when BKB Properties sells Fairhill Estate by tender in October.
Bordering Westford Bridge Estate, which is set on a private nature reserve, Fairhill Estate has breathtaking views over Knysna, the lagoon and Knysna River, says Willie van Rensburg of BKB Properties.
“The Outeniqua Mountains serve as a fitting backdrop to this special property.”
Set on a tarred road, the farm includes the remains of the main house, which was badly damaged during the recent Knysna fires and will have to be rebuilt, and Fairhill Lodge, a cottage built in 1991 and measuring 130m².
“The cottage includes an openplan living area, two bedrooms, a bathroom, study, guest toilet, covered stoep with beautiful views, and a carport.”
Van Rensburg says although Kynsna suffered huge damage in the recent fires, it is well on the way to recovery.
“The sense of community that developed and the spirit shown by the people in the region was unprecedented.”
He says the farm, which is on the urban edge of Knysna, has the potential for rezoning and development, “offering an ideal opportunity for builders or developers”.
Knysna is a popular holiday destination for international and local visitors and is on the N2, about six hours’ drive from Cape Town.
The property to be sold is served by Eskom power and has its own water supply.
Van Rensburg believes the sale of this property by tender will present an excellent commercial and lifestyle opportunity for buyers, especially as Knysna is being rebuilt at a rapid rate, allowing more scope for development in this popular region.
Viewing of the property is by appointment only.
Tender documents are available from BKB Properties, Cecilia Square, 100 Cecilia Street, Paarl. All tenders must be submitted by noon on October 6, and will be opened at 12.15pm on the same day.
