Stage performance shaped Colbet’s career
Leiden Colbet was born in 1993. She first displayed a love for stage performance during her high school days. In 2011, she took one of the lead roles in her school’s production of Shakespeare’s A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream.
This led to her joining the Playhouse group for two years, where she qualified to represent South Africa in New York for the international showcase International Model and Talent Association.
In 2012, she challenged herself by competing in the school’s annual beauty pageant and won the titles of Miss Personality and Second Princess for Miss Rand Park High 2012.
She said, during her leisure time she was active as a hip hop dancer and she played a leading role in the Easter production of
The Rejects in 2013. She presented at Randburg Rhema Bible Church events and assisted in co-ordinating the Legacy Pageant 2015 at the church.
Leiden began a live performance degree at Afda in 2013.
She earned a place in theatre roles, such as in Other People’s Lives, A Doll’s House, Macbeth and A Street Car named Desire.
Her screen appearances include Mic On, Forbidden Love, The Apple of my Eye, Panacea, The Calling, Remnant, On Ice, Emergence and Insular at Afda.
She also appeared in an episode of Generations. Recent credits include a Debonairs commercial and a role in the upcoming film Alone.
