Tale of Goldilocks, with a twist

BELOVED children’s classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears will be coming to the Nassau Theatre at Groote Schuur High School in Newlands from Monday until next Saturday, to share their porridge with children of all ages.

The production is a twist on the familiar fairytale, and follows the adventures of Goldilocks in the forest, on the eve of her birthday party – which her grandfather is organising.

Lost in the woods, Goldilocks finds a cottage belonging to three bears who are out and about. She goes inside and makes herself at home.

“The three bears come to find their visitor fast asleep with hilarious consequences.

“The enchanting fairytale classic is full of laughter, audience participation and is great fun for the whole family to enjoy,” said Elton John Duffy who adapted and directed the performance.

Duffy has been producing children’s theatre for the past 23 years with The Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company.

The show stars Desle McConney as Baby Bear, Duffy as Grandpa, Amy Blanchard as Mama Bear, Almar Muller as Papa Bear, and Mar-li van der Merwe as Goldilocks.
