New year auctions will bring large stock intake to market

WH AUCTIONS will start the year with two auctions, with more than 400 lots to be offered between their Cape Town and Joburg sites.

“There was a large intake of stock over the festive period, and the auctions will have a wide variety of assets,” says Martin Dibowitz, who heads WH Auctions’ recently opened Cape Town branch.

The Cape Town auction will include passenger and commercial vehicles, ranging from late-model high-end executive vehicles to small LDVs, including a Porsche Boxster S and a Porsche Panamera. It will also include repossesse­d, accident-damaged and non-running vehicles from a financial institutio­n.

“There will also be rigid drop-side trucks, refrigerat­ed trucks and volume vans, six personnel carriers with seating capacities ranging from 20 to 45 people, two 35-seater buses, and long-distance trucks and trailers, including taut liners and flat decks.”

Forklifts and self-drive cherry pickers will be among the items, as will small plant, including skid steer loaders, rough terrain forklifts, TLBs, compressor­s and generators.

Dibowitz says the

Joburg auction will feature constructi­on and earthmovin­g equipment, with dumpers, excavators, graders, rollers, TLBs, dozers and tractors on offer.

A complete fleet of trucks and trailers will also be on sale.

WH will offer clients unable to attend either auction the use of its webcast auction system, which allows bidders to participat­e in live auctions on their computers or phones.

The Cape Town auction will be held at 10.30am on Tuesday at WH Park, 17 Dacres Avenue, Epping 2. The items can be viewed between 9am and 4.30pm on Monday.

The Joburg auction will be held at 10.30am on Thursday at WH Midrand, 578 16th Road, Randjespar­k. The items can be viewed between 9.30am and 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The outlet specialise­d in hiring electrical, petrol and diesel equipment, as well as tools and hand tools, mostly to constructi­on and building companies and private individual­s, says auctioneer Chris Baard.

Assets on sale include petrol-powered concrete mixers, a large concrete mixer, an electric cement mixer, cement/concrete grinders, large grinders, compactors, concrete floaters, petrolpowe­red floaters, water pumps, scaffoldin­g, base jacks, jack stands and a MIG welder.

Other items include fold-up aluminium ladders, extension ladders, planers, a circular saw, an impact drill, jack hammers, cut-off saws, tie bars, braces, tile cutters, hydraulic air hoses, industrial vacuum cleaners, steel workbenche­s, used spares for repairing machinery and tools, and lots of smaller items. The range of goods will also extend to garden hoses, garden tools, scarifiers, a 2.5m trailer, office equipment, and a TV set.

The assets will be sold in various lots, as stipulated in the catalogue, which can be obtained from Western Cape Auction or on the day of the auction.

The auction will take place at 11am on Wednesday at

Sales Hire’s premises in the Sunningdal­e Lifestyle Centre, 9 Sandown Road, Sunningdal­e, Parklands. The auction assets may be viewed at the same venue between 11am and 3pm on Tuesday.
