Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition)
ON THE BOARDS
The Journey. This site-based performance will be presented on Sunday, April 22, at 4pm, Green Point Urban Park, by Indoni Dance Academy and guests from Jazzart Dance Theatre. The piece has been choreographed by Indoni company members and is directed by its artistic director, Sbonakaliso Ndaba.
The performance will start with groups dancing at sites in the gardens and the Amphitheatre stage. The performance will wrap as the groups finish their journey and reach their destination: the Little Common. There is no charge to attend, and we urge readers to take advantage of the opportunity to see the acclaimed
Indoni and Magnet Theatre dancing in the park.
Funding by the City of Cape Town has enabled this project to take place – taking arts to the people. Bravo to this initiative. We hope to see more events in this glorious setting, which should be used more for this type of public arts festival. If the performance is cancelled due to bad weather, the alternative date is April 29. The performance is 60 minutes.
