SOUTH Africa’s next national census will for the first time see population informatio­n collected electronic­ally.

Presenting the

Statistics SA budget vote in Parliament, the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, said the 2021 population count was vital to plan for South Africa’s needs.

She said the data would be collected via computer-assisted personal interviews.

This would improve the quality of data collected and reduce the time-lag between data collection and the disseminat­ion of results. – African News Agency (ANA)
