Electronic census next
SOUTH Africa’s next national census will for the first time see population information collected electronically.
Presenting the
Statistics SA budget vote in Parliament, the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, said the 2021 population count was vital to plan for South Africa’s needs.
She said the data would be collected via computer-assisted personal interviews.
This would improve the quality of data collected and reduce the time-lag between data collection and the dissemination of results. – African News Agency (ANA)
