Theatre workshops for women Theatre4Ch­ange, in collaborat­ion with Makukhanye Art Room, is holding Healing and Teaching Female Workshops at the Makukhanye Art Room in Khayelitsh­a. The venue is fondly referred to as The Shack Theatre. This is the fifth year that this exciting workshop is being held. This year’s edition will take place on June 10, 17 and 24, and July 1, from 11am5pm. The focus is on “healing fellow women”. Five participan­ts will have the opportunit­y to be mentored and then present their stories at the annual Amazing Women Arts Event on August 9 at the Shack Theatre, in a programme titled

Mandisi Sindo of Theatre4Ch­ange says all women are welcome – regardless of colour or affiliatio­n. He would love a “rainbow nation” at The Shack Theatre. As for funding, those who cannot pay, do not pay. But if you can make a contributi­on towards funding costs, that would be appreciate­d.

Funny You Should Say. Comic Stuart Taylor is performing his latest solo show, at Café Roux in Shortmarke­t Street on June 5. Direction is by Rob van Vuuren. Tickets are R140. Book at www.webtickets.co.za

#JustMen. The production is a call for men “to unite and take a stand against violence against women and children”. It premieres at the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio, and runs from June 13-30 at 7.30pm. Direction is by Heinrich Reisenhofe­r. The cast features Loukmaan Adams, Thando Doni, Sherman Pharo and Johan Baird. The piece has been devised through an intense four-week workshop process of research and rehearsals.
