Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - WORLD -

BRITISH director Steve McQueen’s first major feature since Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave, thriller Widows blasts the BFI London Film Festival in October into action.

The film stars Academy Award winner Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez and Elizabeth Debicki.

The movie, set in Chicago, is a “thriller about women left with a debt by their dead husbands’ criminal activities”.

“Watching the UK TV version of Lynda La Plante’s original thriller as a teenager in the 1980s had a major impact on me and so it feels very special to be sharing this film,” McQueen said. – Reuters
