THE City of Cape Town and Department of Local Government, Environmen­tal Affairs and Developmen­t Planning said the average dam levels in the province have increased to 55% due to recent rainfall.

Highlights include Ceres, which received 110mm of rain over the past week. Dams feeding the City of Cape Town were at 62% yesterday. At this time last year, the region’s dam levels were at 34%. The Berg River Dam, which is a major supplier to the City, is at 93%.
