Steel yourself for tasks ahead

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - HOME -

SPRING is in the air and next week I will start offering advice on what needs to be done around the house as the sun starts peeking from behind the clouds.

But careful planning is essential, and no task should be undertaken until you are fully prepared and ready to go. I think we have at least two more weekends left before we should be ready to begin.

So, remain seated, enjoy the rugby, ignore or hide the job jar, enjoy the last few drops of the warming version of the red grape, and steel yourself for the tasks ahead.

In all seriousness, we know we have to protect and maintain our assets, so take a couple of minutes to open the tool box, clean and oil the tools, make sure the ladder is safe, the electric screwdriver is charged and that you have the doctor’s note supporting your bad back strategy close at hand.

Mrs Mac will read this with nothing but a wicked look in her eye – winter is virtually over and it is time to release “the dogs of home maintenance”.
