DRUG-RE­LATED CRIME JUMPS

Gor­dons Bay has seen an in­crease in rob­bery with ag­gra­vat­ing cir­cum­stances in the 2017/18 fi­nan­cial year. Last year they had 32 re­ported cases and now it is 42.

Ma­li­cious dam­age to prop­erty dropped by two from 87 to 85 and bur­glary at res­i­den­tial premises also saw a de­cline from 295 to 219. Theft out of mo­tor ve­hi­cles, how­ever, in­creased from 112 to 137. Drug-re­lated crime saw a big jump from 267 to 336.

Driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol or drugs also in­creased from 80 in the pre­vi­ous year to 101. Com­mer­cial crime in­creased by five from 46 to 51.

Both rob­bery at res­i­den­tial premises and rob­bery at non-res­i­den­tial premises showed in­creases. Res­i­den­tial rob­beries went up by seven and non-res­i­den­tial went up by two.
