DRUG-RELATED CRIME JUMPS
Gordons Bay has seen an increase in robbery with aggravating circumstances in the 2017/18 financial year. Last year they had 32 reported cases and now it is 42.
Malicious damage to property dropped by two from 87 to 85 and burglary at residential premises also saw a decline from 295 to 219. Theft out of motor vehicles, however, increased from 112 to 137. Drug-related crime saw a big jump from 267 to 336.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs also increased from 80 in the previous year to 101. Commercial crime increased by five from 46 to 51.
Both robbery at residential premises and robbery at non-residential premises showed increases. Residential robberies went up by seven and non-residential went up by two.
