Christmas magic

- Tyler Roodt

THIS festive season, the V&A Waterfront is giving you a chance to meet Santa Claus in the flesh and tell him what you want for Christmas.

The Santa’s Village event was conceived as a way to give children an opportunity to open up about what they want for Christmas and to give them a chance to meet Santa

Claus; something every child should be able to do.

Public relations co-ordinator for V&A Waterfront, Nuha Jappie said: “Santa himself will fly in from the North Pole especially to meet his young fans from 10am every day and to pose for photographs with them.

“Little people can also present their written wish lists to Santa, or they can discuss their Christmas wishes with him.”

The event will take place at the Centre

Court of the V&A Waterfront and will offer kids a glimpse into Santa’s magical workshop, according to Jappie.

“Youngsters can play in this area and to get a sense of ‘Christmas Magic’.

“It will be a small window into what life in the North Pole is like, and an opportunity for kids and their families to meet Santa and the elves and to marvel at life in Santa’s home at the North Pole,” she said.

Santa’s Village will offer kids and parents alike a chance to take a keepsake picture with Santa and also give kids the chance to convince him that they have, in fact, been good this year.

The event starts on December 8 and carries on until 24 December, Christmas Eve.

“Santa allows children to escape from reality into the wonderful world of fantasy, to dream and to hope.

“Santa represents a special magical bond that exists only with children.

“Adults need this magic too, but to experience Santa, people need to really believe and children do that best,” said

Jappie.
