Local fans will know that it’s been 10 years since the group last recorded in the City.

Today, the multiple award-winning and internationally-acclaimed gospel ensemble promises a unique and intimate experience of praise and worship in the Auditorium at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. This follows a successful tour of their album which was concluded on a high note at the Sun Arena, Time Square, in Pretoria recently.

Giving insight into the presentation and the aesthetics of the live recording, Lindelani Mkhize, said: “We are about uniqueness, authenticity and being relevant, which is why we always aspire to bring something new and fresh. Our supporters can expect a theatrical experience with an eclectic mix of various elements, showcasing our new costumes and fashion as well as our talented soloists and vocalists to balance our slow and up-tempo songs. As it has always been with each of the albums, will have something for everyone, for every moment in life.”

MTN Executive for Consumer Business Mapula Bodibe says they are excited Cape Town will host the next recording, exactly a decade after the it last hosted the show. “At MTN, we are truly passionate about our MTN Joyous Celebration partnership which spans a number of years. It’s even more exciting that, together with our partners Joyous Celebration, we have kept our promise to MTN customers and Joyous fans.

“For years, they have been requesting that the Live DVD recording take place in Cape Town. We have heeded their call and this time they will witness the live recording in Cape Town. This is another example of how MTN is making the world smaller by ensuring that this powerhouse gospel group goes to places where hordes of fans are located,” said Bodibe.

Due to the venue capacity, tickets to the recording are limited and Joyous fans are urged to get their tickets early so as not to miss out on the event.

In line with the festive season’s spirit of giving, MTN Joyous Celebration is requesting all those attending the recording during the three days to bring in and donate gifts or non-perishable items for the less fortunate that the ensemble will hand over and present to identified charities within Cape Town after the event.
