THE Twitter-verse is abuzz over the twar between DJ Junior De Rocka and the mother of his child, actress Ntando Duma.

The feud began earlier this week when Junior donated equipment and various charitable items to two underprivileged schools in KwaZulu-Natal, which led his former lover to lash out on social media and accuse the DJ of being a deadbeat dad towards their 1-year-old daughter.

“I don’t even remember him ‘donating’ such essentials for his daughter, but (there is not enough),” she captioned the post.

This week, Junior spoke to Independent Media on the twar, being responsible and helping those in need.

He and other media personalities participated in the #DeRockasSchoolDrive campaign in which donations were made to two KZN schools, Wiggins Secondary and Nkosibomvu Secondary School.

These included computers, cleaning equipment, sanitary items, stationery and wi-fi routers.

After the lashing from his ex-girlfriend on social media, Junior issued a statement to set the record straight.

“I hate doing this and I always promised myself that I would never air my laundry in public. But I have to set the record straight now, I had no choice.

“I may have a difference with the mother of my child, but the allegations that I do not support my child are false, malicious and very hurtful to me and my family,” he posted.

Junior said he had to share his side of the story: “Dealing with this sort of negativity is not easy, especially when it comes from the mother of your child. I usually ignore any negativity and I let it slide, but this time I needed to address it and tell my side of the story.

“A lot of people are saying things about me and the kind of person I am, that I’m giving stuff to strangers instead of my own child. It’s hurtful and I needed to set the record straight.”

In a series of tweets, Junior posted images of bank transfers into his ex-partner’s account as proof of payments – to which Duma responded by saying Junior made four payments since she took him to court, but she hadn’t received a “cent” from him in the new year.

Other celebrities involved in Junior’s school drive initiative were Dladla Mshunqisi, DJ Cndo, Distruction Boyz, El Dambie Clothing founder Sbusiso Xolani Myeni and Jnr B FameUs founder, Dogg DBN.

Talking about helping learners, Dogg DBN said: “We wanted to do something that would make a real impact on how youngsters can develop themselves. But Junior is the one who paid for everything – every cent.”
