Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition)
A world of magic
EVER wish you could zap yourself straight into the school holidays? Well, within a few weeks you will get the opportunity to celebrate with the College of Magic in Claremont, as they host their annual Children’s Magic Festival.
As one of the key fundraising events for the college, the Children’s Magic Festival entertains hundreds of people every year, with a lot of fun magical activities to engage in, including treasure hunts, interactive workshops, a tour of the college’s Victorian Building, and shows from more than 100 magic performers.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the festival and the theme of this year’s event is “Fantasy”, encouraging attendees to dress up as their favourite fantasy characters, superheroes, fairy tale characters, mythical creatures, princes and princesses – as fantastical as you can possibly get.
David Gore, director of the College of
Magic, said: “Our cast, featuring our talented graduates and students, is all set to charm festival goers with their unbelievable feats of magic, escapology, stilt-walking, mime and clowning, juggling and more. We cannot wait to whisk you away to a world of fantasy.”
The Children’s Magic Festival will take place over four days, between June 19 and
22, and will be held at the College of Magic in Claremont, with three 90-minute shows every day of the festival.
“We’re excited to once again host this magical Capetonian winter school holiday event,” said Gore.
