HOW TO BAG A BILLIONAIRE

- SACHA VAN NIEKERK

FAIRY Godparents might not be real but Anna Bey, the founder of School of Affluence, comes pretty darn close for women seeking to enter high society.

We’ve read the fairy tales and watched the from-rags-to-riches movies – with a swish of a wand and “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo”, Cinderella went from scrubbing floors to living in a palace with Prince Charming.

Bey, 32, is the creator of JetsetBabe.com, a luxury lifestyle community for women who enjoy the finer things in life.

She started an educational platform for women who want to better themselves and “level up”.

Fulfilling the role of a modernday fairy godmother, having done the journey herself in combination with many years of researching and analysing high society, Bey spills all the secrets on bagging billionaires.

Originally from Sweden, she grew up in Stockholm and soon after high school, she moved to Rome to study Italian. There, she was introduced to a trust-fund kid and so began her journey into high society.

After their relationship ended, Bey got a taste for luxury and decided she didn’t want to go back to her old life.

In an interview with The Times, Bey said she had been part of exclusive parties where she rubbed shoulders with famous guests.

“There was a time when I was partying with Paris Hilton on a billionaire’s private yacht. That was super cool,” she said.

“Another time, I was dating an extremely rich guy, travelling with him everywhere. It was like being in a movie. There were always bodyguards. He’d give you cash in a bag and say: ‘Hey, go shopping’.”

However, when stumbling into the life of grandeur, wealthy beau on her arm, Bey found that she made a few style and demeanour faux pas and wished she had someone to show her the ropes.

This spurred her on to set up her own website which, along with the course content of her finishing school, is filled with tips on how to create wardrobes that exude class, blend in with the elite and attract a wealthy partner.

In an interview with magazine show This Morning, Bey said: “I’ve been able to maintain this luxurious lifestyle through the men I’ve always been with and that’s not something I’m ashamed of talking about.”

If you’re concerned about whether women grooming themselves to be ideal suitors for wealthy men goes against progression, you’re justified.

However, women are choosing the lifestyle, and that in itself is empowering. Many of the women involved in the JetsetBabe community have found solace in the fact that the group is a safe space where they can discuss their ambitions without being frowned upon by broader society.

It’s a space where they won’t be labelled “slay queens”, “gold diggers” or “sugar babies”.

Women are often labelled as such yet few people stop to criticise the men who are prepared to fork out cash to have beautiful women surround them.
