PICTURE: BRENDAN MAGAAR/AFRICAN NEWS AGENCY (ANA) DANCING prodigy Leah Miller hopes to one day shuffle and strut on global stages just like her favourite singer and dancer, Justin Bieber.

Leah, 9, was one of the standout dancers at Cape Town’s event at the Artscape Theatre last week.

“I loved dancing since I was three years old and when I turned six, I took hip hop classes. I have been dancing since then.”

Last month Leah won three gold medals at the SA Body of Dance competition at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Leah wants to be a professional dancer and enjoys watching Bieber on television. She also likes listening to music, is a keen netball player and attends Groote Schuur Primary School.

Leah is a member at Rhythm Factory Dance School in Kenilworth and said her hip hop dance instructor Elvina “Vee” Da Silva is also one of her favourite dancers.

She has also starred in music videos and advertisements.

Leah, who lives with her mother Liezle and father Rafeeq in Silvertown, won three medals – two bronze for group dance and solo performance, and one for best entertainer – at the event last year.

Triple C, one of the show’s producers, said: “The provides a platform for skilful dancers like Leah to shine. It’s not a competition, it is designed to display all the best street dance acts in Cape Town. All the crews and studios are invited to be in the show.

“This year we had a great variety of new crews and old crews.
