Celebrating fifty years of manufacturing products and providing services in Africa

SPECK PUMPS SA SPOKESPERSON FIFTY years of manufacturing products and providing services in Africa taught Speck Pumps SA that reliable and cost-effective pumps are essential for any water which needs to be circulated and kept clean. Speck Pumps SA manufactures a range of pumps for swimming pools, spas, ponds and farms. The other key to this recipe of success is ensuring product parts are readily available, no matter where you are in the world.

Because Speck Pumps SA knows every application is different, it provides specific pumps for each client’s needs.

Speck Pumps SA likes to provide application specific product layouts to check exactly what equipment an individual client needs and then recommends the best products so that each client gets the right equipment. Speck Pumpen in Germany was founded by Daniel Speck and his five sons in 1909. Speck Pumps has been supplied in South Africa since 1969, and will continue with this fine tradition of innovative, well-engineered, high quality pumps designed in Germany. Circulation pumps available in the African market range from 0.2kW to 1.5kW in single phase, and in three phases up to 5.5kW. Last year saw the launch of the Speck Pumps BADU® Solar System; a combination of panels, controllers and boosters that work with their single-phase pumps up to 1.1kW and three-phase pumps that includes borehole pumps up to 2.2kW. The system can either use solar energy exclusively or with both solar and grid power. This system is also remotely operated, so even if you are travelling you can control it with your phone. Speck Pumps SA’s solar panels come with a booster per panel, which increases the power supply substantially.

The MultiCyclone series launched earlier this year has brilliant and easy to use pre-filtration devices that can help reduce thousands of litres of water backwashed and wasted every year. Any water application, such as aquaculture, aquaponics and hydroponic industries and of course swimming pools, needs to save on water wasted through backwash and rinsing and the MultiCyclone would be the perfect tool. Filter media would not have to be cleaned as often, saving you time and hassle. Additionally it will increase the lifespan of your equipment. It is easily cleaned by opening the valve and only 15 litres of water are flushed out to rinse the debris chamber. The range has several sizes, such as the MultiCyclone 12 water flow of up to 18m3 per hour, the MultiCylone 16 capable of 30m3 per hour cleaning and the giant 70XL that delivers 90m3 an hour. There’s also a Super and Ultra version of the first two models available that include cartridge filters. The units are small and fit snugly next to or on top of the circulation pump.

“The pre-filter catches up to 80% of all the dirt that is in the pond, swimming pool or water feature that is heavier than water, such as silt, twigs and leaves; anything up to 10 microns gets filtered.”

Features of the MultiCyclone:

* Easy to install; * No filter type material to clean or replace;

* Applies to most existing filtration systems;

* Reduces filter maintenance;

* Suitable for both new and existing installations;

* Provides quick-connect fittings and flush valve. Speck Pumps SA also has several other product ranges to keep your pool, pond or water feature clean for the summer.
