PlumRus, is becoming the one-stop-shop for elderly care, offering the standard retirement living experience as well as tailor made services extended to the broader community. Their Community Service Centre offers Home Base Care and Day Care options to seniors living in the southern suburbs.

Their carers are skilled in providing basic care, such as morning cleaning routine, oral hygiene, toilet routine, nail and hair care, making of bed, light housekeeping, preparation of meals, companionship and activities, in the comfort of your own home. Home Base Care packages can be tailor made to suit the individual needs of the client. Shifts can be packaged from 6 to 24 hours within a 48 hour notice period.

I spoke to Anne and Wally Lotz, who enjoys the PlumRus Home Base Care services. They agree that at their ages of 95 and 97 respectively, they needed assistance in their daily lives without burdening their own children. Wally added that they enjoy the increased sense of security living at Plumrus. They make use of the added value services PlumRus has on offer, such as transport to doctor’s appointments.

Their Senior Day Care facility operates from their premises in leafy Constantia and can be enjoyed for up to 12 hours per day. Clients are welcomed as residents for the day and can partake in all activities on offer to their permanent residents.
