Delft, virtually, has top talent

-

TALENTED young people in Delft have what it takes to unite the community, which the Good Deeds Foundation, Bold Moves, businesses and schools with the support of other organisations are set to showcase when they host the Delft Youth Talent finals next weekend.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Delft Youth Festival will focus only on the Delft Youth Talent as a virtual project.

The festival aims to celebrate, unite, transform and empower the youth in Delft.

They are given an opportunity to showcase their talent such as singing, dancing, poetry, playing instruments, and comedy.

Wageeda Leonard, founding director at Good Deeds Foundation, said: “We are hoping through unique initiatives like this that Delft is showcased on the Western Cape map as a place to be proud of. We have been blessed with local festival supporters like Delft Mall, Nasper Labs, Khathalelana, HOPE Cape Town and many schools and community organisations/businesses.”

Bold Moves managing director Kemi Akiyode-Adebayo added: “We are so excited that in the midst of the challenging and unprecedented Covid19, a seed of hope can be given to our people with amazing talent in Delft.

“We are embracing technology to make this happen and positively impact our youth. We are extremely thankful to our three celebrity judges (actor Ann Juries-May, publicity and music supervisor Martin Myers and actor Nomi Mzamane) for agreeing to support us.”
