IF YOU love the world under the sea, this one’s for you. The Two Oceans Aquarium is reopening to the public on September 1.

But if you are a member, there’s an extra-special treat for you. You will have four exclusive days to rediscover the magic of the aquarium and say hello to all your favourite animals from August 28 to 31 ahead of its reopening to the general public.

“We are delighted to have finally received the go-ahead from the government to reopen our doors after five months of closure. The aquarium will once again be filled with the buzz of enthusiastic visitors, discovering the magic and beauty of the underwater world. Now we can get back to our purpose of saving the oceans and inspiring all who visit,” said Michael Farquhar, chief executive of the Two Oceans Aquarium.

Penguin keeper Shanet Rutgers said: “Words cannot describe how excited I am for our opening. I am super happy and excited to welcome all our visitors and our members back to our underwater world.”

The aquarium provides a fascinating and close-up glimpse of life below the surface of our oceans. Visitors get to see how the oceans come alive in magnificent colours and a variety of shapes and sizes. Old and young are introduced to the incredible range of fish and other amazing creatures that call these waters their home.

“From sharks, to jellyfish, eels, the

Knysna seahorse, crabs and a dazzling array of Indian Ocean fish – these enormous tanks contain them all.”

The aquarium staff and animals will once again welcome members, supporters, fans and visitors between 9.30am and 6pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 6pm on weekends and public holidays.
