PARTNERSHIP AIMS TO PROMOTE PER- ITEM INSURANCE IN THE US FNB TAKES FIRST PLACE IN TOP 100 MOST VALUABLE BRANDS REPORT

-

LOCAL start-up insurer Pineapple has partnered with US insurance giant Travelers Insurance in advancing the concept of per-item insurance. Like Pineapple’s app in South Africa, the Travelers Insurance Traverse app allows US consumers to insure an item with just the snap of a picture. Pineapple co-founder Matthew Elan Smith says: “We are excited to partner with Travelers to bring our technology to the US market. Our team has been impressed by the pace at which such a large organisation is able to move, and we look forward to bringing further innovation to the market together.” Pineapple has seen significant local support since launching its per-item insurance offering in July 2018.

FIRST National Bank (FNB) has taken top spot in the 2020 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable brands South African report. The report highlights that the FNB brand is valued at R46.4 billion and has shown an increase in all measures used to determine South Africa’s brand ranking. FNB has improved on key measures of corporate and social responsibility, partly as a result of a recent campaign that called on all South Africans to support local businesses and help to rebuild our economy.
