Green farm to be sold for a ‘steal’

-

RAWSON will be auctioning a 180 hectare farm, at the foot of the Langeberg Range mountains between Ashton and Swellendam, on May 26.

It is one of South Africa’s largest biodynamic farms. Biodynamics is a holistic ecological and ethical approach to farming, gardening, food and nutrition.

The farm has two main houses, two cottages, two wendy houses and a campsite. The main house has three bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge, dining room, kitchen and a veranda. The second has three bedrooms, a full bathroom, lounge, dining room, kitchen, and veranda.

The two cottages are identical with one bedroom, a bathroom, an open-plan lounge and dining room, a kitchen, a covered patio and a carport.

The water for the farm comes from the Langeberg range, which supplies enough for irrigation and fills all the dams throughout the year.

“Given its low price and value of the property – including the ability to let the various dwellings out for extra income – this farm is a steal,” says Tanya Jovanovski, the Western Cape franchisee. The reserve price is R9 million, with an expected opening bid of R6m.
