SOUTH Africa’s electric car market might still be in its infancy, but Audi is pulling out all the stops to make a grand entrance this year. Not only is the German carmaker launching three new e-tron model lines in the coming months, but it will also be the first to introduce 150kW DC ultra-fast charging technology to the country.

Audi South Africa has teamed up with GridCars to install 70 new EV public charging connectors at 33 locations around the country in order to expand on the existing public charging network for the benefit of not only Audi e-tron customers but all electric car drivers.

FORD’S desert-conquering high performance off-roading family has a new member following the reveal of the new Ford Bronco Raptor. Set to be launched in the US around midyear, the wild new 4x4 will remain forbidden fruit for South African enthusiasts as it is currently only built in left-hand drive guise. Ford has opted to fit the Bronco Raptor with its 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost

V6. Featuring wider axles derived from the Bronco CR race truck, the Raptor is 248mm wider than the regular Bronco and comes with a Raptor HOSS 4.0 race-ready suspension system. | Jason Woosey
