THE Department of Employment and Labour’s inspection blitz has revealed a 42% compliance with labour laws of the Western Cape’s hospitality sector.

Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi joined inspectors in Sea Point in the blitz to ensure the enforcement of the labour legislation within the sector. Areas of non-compliance included: non-payment of overtime worked; non-compliance with Covid-19 protocols; UIF contributions not paid to the fund; and employers not producing details of contracts. |
