CAMERAMAN CUSHIONED FALL

-

FREESTYLE skier Jon Sallinen had a cameraman to thank for being his “cushion” at the Beijing Olympics during his crash landing this week. The Finn flew out of the halfpipe on his first qualifying run at Genting Snow Park and landed on the cameraman who was leaning over to film his trick. Sallinen landed heavily on the side of the halfpipe before getting up and skiing gingerly down to the bottom. The 21-year-old said after the competition that he was lucky that he did not land on his head. “I maybe got a little cushion from the camera guy,” he said. “I hope the cameraman is all good because I landed directly on him.”
