R2.6m for pieces of Nasa history

ORIGINAL Nasa photographs from the Apollo missions sold for 1.16 million Danish kroner (about R2.6m) in an auction in Copenhagen on Wednesday.

The 74 privatelyowned photographs from the Apollo 8 to 17 missions included the famous one of Buzz Aldrin’s moon walk during the first manned lunar landing in July 1969. It sold for 52000 kroner. The first colour photo of the first earthrise witnessed by human beings, taken in 1968 sold for 88 400 kroner. | Reuters
