HAPPY 125TH BIRTHDAY TO RONDEBOSCH BOYS’ SCHOOLS A message from Ian Ryan – Headmaster of Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School

‘We have weathered many storms; each storm has made our roots and branches stronger.’

-

ONE hundred and twenty-five years ago, Rondebosch Boys’ Schools started with just a few resources and modest ambitions. In 1897, our founders welcomed the school’s first eight students with a promise to provide a great education. Rondebosch Boys’ Schools is now ranked among the best schools in South Africa. Our staff and boys have demonstrated that our pursuit of excellence in learning and teaching continues to make a lasting and positive difference in our country. Arbor nostra floreat – our tree thrives. As we reflect on our theme for 2022, we highlight four lessons that trees teach us.

Patience: Take time to grow and mature. From our young seedling beginnings planted 125 years ago, to our flourishing school tree of today. From our Grade R learners to young men of Grade 12 and beyond.

Strength: Weather the storms of life. We have weathered many storms; each storm has made our roots and branches stronger.

Co-operation: Continue to create a “tree-munity” – our strong school community has kept us growing for 125 years.

Pride: Stand tall. Our school stands tall as one of the best boys’ schools in the country, and we can truly be proud.

This celebration offers the occasion to celebrate 125 years of success, and to rededicate ourselves to the goals of an exceptional learning environment. Happy 125th Birthday ‘Bosch!
