Life with man’s best friend a must-read

- KEAGAN MITCHELL keagan.mitchell@inl.co.za

HAVING 11 dogs would be too much for many. However, for author Jennifer Lindridge, the joy, chaos and love that comes with the four-legged friends makes it worth it.

Published this month, Eleven Dogs Live with Me shows readers the jubilations and frustrations, the routine, and the quiet moments

of life with 11 of man’s best friends.

Lindridge said the book will resonate with all dog lovers.

“It’s a well-known fact that children love – and are able to relate to – books featuring animals, and what could be better than a book entirely devoted entirely to dogs?”

Accompanying the rhythmic, rhyming text, are wonderful, fun illustrations by Bathurst artist Tori Stowe. There’s so much to look at.

“Children and adults will smile reading it. It’s also a subtle nudge that brings home the importance of adopting dogs. There’s no such thing as a bad dog and breed doesn’t matter,” she said.

The book is aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 7.

“Age doesn’t matter.

Every single dog comes with their own brand of wonderful. And this book clearly illustrates that.

“Dogs hold a soft spot in my heart and this book is a personal dedication to mine. I feel like, in some small way, I’ve immortalised my fur babies and they will now live on forever in this happy tale.

“And I love that I get to share the joy they bring me with others,” she added.

The book costs R110 and is available from major bookstores and the official

Eleven Dogs website: www. elevendogslivewithme.com.
