Loot Love takes SA brands to Coachella
MUSIC festivals are not just about the performances. For many, it’s a showcase of the best festival style.
Fashion is a part of everything we do. From the choices we make when going to work, to when we decide on the outfit we will wear at a music concert.
Coachella is arguably the biggest music festival stage in the world, one where artists around the globe clamour to perform. But we look forward not only to the performances, but to what the attendees will be wearing.
So when Luthando Shosha, aka Loot Love, shared that she was going to Palm Springs for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, we wondered how she’d interpret festival chic.
Gone are the days of Daisy Dukes and boots. Festival chic is all about making a statement in the most avant garde garments that will attract the eyes of the fashion press in attendance.
And that’s what Loot Love did – she wore avant garde designs in an accessible way .
The Apple Music curator, TV and radio presenter was one of the global VIP guests of BMW and arrived in California ready to impress. Not only did she party for three days straight, but she met some cool people, including Doja Cat.
Most importantly, the presenter decided that she would only wear South African brands at the festival.
On day one, she wore black shorts with fishnets underneath, boots and an Ezekhetho jacket from the “Izimbokodo 22” collection, which was showcased at the Fashion Week in Amsterdam last month with the help of IFW Business.
On day two, she wore Viviers Studio military green pants, a black drop-shoulder see-through top and black combat boots.
And when she met American rapper Doja Cat, she was wearing a black long-sleeve bodycon dress.
On the final day, she re-purposed an outfit she has worn before – a white garment with extravagant tulle sleeves that was a hit with her fans.
