Cute gifts for mothers by the little ones

WITH Mother’s Day coming up, children were taught about the day and how they can make it special for their mothers. It was buzzing all week for Good Morning Educare in Strand as they spent the whole week designing cards and other special gifts for their mothers.

The little ones did not want to be disturbed as they paid careful attention to their designs that will be gifted to their most loved ones over the weekend. There was a love-hate relationship with the glue as it delayed production for many.

Even with the camera around, attention was given to what was on the table.

Principal Thami September explained the toddlers were given the freedom to choose what they would like to design for their mothers. “We taught them the importance of a mother in one’s life and for the day ideas on what they can do. We told them to spoil their mothers on the day by making tea for them or even washing their feet.”

She said if children can learn the importance of honouring people in their lives the world will be a better place. “We need to spread love and it is easy to do. Simply things that do not require money like drawings, and the parents must learn to show appreciation to these gifts so that children can grow wanting to always show gratitude.”

Most of the toddlers made drawings of their mothers while others opted for making flowers and cards. The smile on their faces showed that they enjoyed making something special for their mothers.
