As we move from winter into spring, it’s time to change your accessories

WE MIGHT be in September but spring still seems to be in hibernation.

Many of you will be eagerly awaiting the warmer days so you can once again show a bit of flesh.

While we are all excited about ditching drab winter gear, it’s a great time to phase in different accessories as the woollen scarves, gloves and beanies move to the back of the closet.

Remember that cute pearl choker you wore all last summer? And what about those colourful earrings? The time has come to bring them out as we transition from winter to spring.

Add pops of colour

Bring on the good groovy vibes with vibrant fun colours. What better way to cheer yourself up and others around you? Whether it’s a pair of multicoloured tassels or beaded earrings or a pastel perspex ring, a gold necklace with a colour gem pendant or a bracelet with pretty charms, look for pieces that will brighten up your look.

Blooming marvellous

Spring is the time to bloom. Everywhere you go you’ll find blossoms popping up, so why not add a few to your accessories?

Whether it’s tiny buds for your ears or a bold flower statement ring, you simply cannot go wrong.

Add pops of colour with beaded flower hair clips or a floral headband.

Show off your neck

Thick knitted scarves and cosy turtleneck

tops have kept us warm and covered up all winter, but now that we can finally put them far away and wear lower necklines, we can wear necklaces again.

Layering is still one of the hottest accessory trends. Wear different lengths and types of links. Mix it up with beads and chains, and add a funky pendant.

If you’re looking for inspiration on layering necklaces, all you have to do is check out Rihanna’s looks. She’s a huge fan of the trend.

Be bold with earrings

Since we’re not hiding our heads under beanies and felt hats any longer, we can bring out our fabulous earrings again. Not only are earrings generally the cheapest of accessories, but they are also so impactful: when people look at your face there’s no way they can miss them.

So why not be bold? Colourful perspex earrings are all the rage right now and chandeliers are still a winner for an evening out.

If big earrings are not your thing, why not opt for ear curating: piercing different parts of your earlobe and wearing a variety of small studs or rings makes as big a statement as wearing one large earring. The combination of the position of the piercing and the type of earrings make for endless possibilities to get creative.
