DNA test awaited on body

POLICE are waiting for the DNA results to confirm the identity of the burnt body found in a gutted car at Diep River station.

Police are still investigating the missing person’s case of 57-year-old Constantia mother Gill Packham.

According to the Pink Ladies Facebook post Packham left her home in Constantia at 7am on Thursday for her place of work at Springfield Convent School, but did not arrive there.

She was driving a dark green BMW.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut said there were no new developments in the case. Police were still investigating.

He said they were not linking the two incidents – of missing Packham and the burnt body – at this stage.

He said both incidents were being investigated separately. They were waiting for the DNA results to identify the burnt body.

He could not confirm when these results would be forthcoming.
