Cape po­lice said yes­ter­day. On Fri­day, of­fi­cers fol­lowed up on in­for­ma­tion and searched the room of a man who was stay­ing in Prince Al­bert overnight, Cap­tain FC van Wyk said. “In his room they found 21 scor­pi­ons, two spi­ders, and two other in­sects. All the an­i­mals were

still alive. He could not pro­duce any doc­u­men­ta­tion or proof for the pos­ses­sion thereof, and was ar­rested. The an­i­mals were seized and handed over to na­ture con­ser­va­tion.”

The man, in cus­tody, would ap­pear in court in Prince Al­bert to­mor­row. |
