Weekend Post (South Africa) - - ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT -

(NO RATING AVAILABLE) CATCHING FEELINGS. Directed by: Kagiso Lediga. Starring: Kagiso Lediga, Pearl Thusi, Andrew Buckland, Akin Omotoso and Loyiso Gola. Showing at: Baywest. MAX Matshane, a creative writing lecturer at Wits University, is married to journalist Sam Matshane who wants to travel the world while Max wants to start a family.

Sam feels their lives have become routine and predictable while Max is grateful for the consistency of their lives as a black middle-class couple. Life starts to change for the couple when an older writer, Heiner Miller, comes to do a residency at Wits in Max’s department.

Heiner, famous for his pleasure-seeking ways, wants Max to loosen up and soon ropes him into attending alcohol-fuelled late-night parties with him.

A health development brings Heiner into the Matshane household, where his sybaritic ways threaten to put a strain on the couple’s relationship.

Will Max and Sam’s marriage survive Heiner?
